Orange has launched another pay as you go RIM handset, the Blackberry Curve 8900 for £250 a few months after the Pearl 8120, an older and more mature product, debuted.
Earlier this year, Orange offered the Indigo Blackberry Pearl 8120 for £145 and at that time, we noted that there were no restrictions regarding using the internet access without having to topped up.
Those who purchased the device will get six-month free web browsing and will be able to subscribe to a monthly subscription service after that. At a cost of only £5 per month, the Blackberry Internet Service will provide you with the necessary dose of email and internet access.
The Curve itself is a sumptuous handset. It comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, built in GPS, WiFi, a 3.2-megapixel camera and up to 16GB expandable memory. The 2.4-inch inch screen can display 480x360 pixels (which is better than the iPhone and should give you a much sharper image).
It is worth noting that the unlocked/SIM free version of the phone costs as much as £326. T-Mobile also launched the Pearl 8110 with a one year prepaid data and email package for only £179. The phone is an entry level one but ends up offering more internet for 50 percent less outlay.
